Lots of things have transpired since the last time I've blogged. But I think I should just briefly write up what happened during my brief absence.
I got my new shampoos which are really awesome. They are really cheap (£2.20 for both the Aloe Vera Shampoo and Conditioner) and my hair smells and feels awesome every time I wash it. And best, no SLS or paraben !
And I ordered some tart moulds which arrived just in time last week for me to bake my apple tarts in. Truly amazing shit I say. The tarts came out really easily and were really easily to clean.
On the 19th of March, we had our St. Patrick's Day Dining In, a formal dinner and food was abysmal as usual. And the best part of the meal was the sauce for the pork and the dessert, which was really hard but passed taste-wise.
Place mat as usual, which Caroline snitched because Alex wanted it. But in the end, it ended up in our recycling bin anyway. Like what the hell. But it's not the only thing that we brought back to the flat. When there's helium balloons ... everybody would just grab the balloons to helium in peace.
That's Natalia, my Polish flatmate who had the misfortune of staying in the room beside mine so she probably would hear my rather loud singing at times.
Sophie, the queen. She's so ridiculously funny. I love her so much that I would allow her to just access my phone and take selfies on my phone.
And that's Yi Ling, my coursemate who is from Malaysia and surprisingly share the same birthdate as I do ! Except that she is a year younger than I am. We met last year during the International Freshers' Week. It was so awesome to FINALLY meet someone from the same campus and not to mention, the same course and birthdate !
And the one very hyped up event after the dining in day was the Solar Eclipse that was happening. Obviously you can't see it with your naked eye. But the Sun was bloody bright that morning but the thing was, even though it was bright, the sunlight cast on Earth was blocked out (even if you can't see it) and the surrounding was dark like this.
Afterwards, we kind of laughed when we heard that Max went out with Rob and someone else to go watch the eclipse and they saw a lady use a colander to watch the eclipse. Pretty innovative there.
And that same night, when Sam and I went to the bar with the rest to play pool and chill, we walked past this. March is always the month for elections and AGM, and they announced the new guild members on Dining-in night. This was so efficient .... Considering that this is plastered up on the board less than 24 hours after the announcement.
Oh right, talking about that. I had a crazy day before the dining in, Wednesdays are my off-days where I don't have lectures, but ... I do the pop up shop in the afternoon from 12 - 1.30pm, then pack up till almost 2, then we had our AGM till 3, and then we had our society photo taken which ended like 4pm. Went back to do some admin stuff and it was 5pm, time for dinner.
I seem to be busier when I should be a little more relaxed. But of course, the good news is that I am elected Society President. OTZ. Which means that for the next societies ball ... I am almost obliged to part with my money and attend it.
In all news, besides all those very crazy social outings.... Baking happened. (In Caroline's words)
We had Victoria Sponge Cake.
Matcha Cheese Cake from Jian Ning
Blueberries and black tea muffins also from Jian Ning.
Not pictured here is the endless supply of cookies from Caroline, Jam tarts and Banana muffins. It was crazy. There was one night we came back to the flat to see Caroline in the kitchen and behind her, on the counter, were piles of baked goods, with more in the oven.
Sam's words: HOW MUCH BAKING DID YOU DO, WOMAN !?
Everyone else was just like holy shit .... This is the story of how I got fat. True story. -wipes away lone tear-
And Monopoly night happened. (We played Sam's pokemon monopoly instead of Caroline's normal Monopoly) It was so funny how everyone was bailing me out so that I could watch Max go out of the game. If not ... I know for sure that I would be gone.
Nathan's a true bro who kept me in. -wipes tear away- Actually, Soph and Sam also did their part to pay off what they could for me. HAHAHA. AND SOPH WAS SO FUNNY IN THE GAME. I swear ... she's one of the funniest people I have ever had the honour to meet and befriend.
