It's the last day before the start of the new school term and I'm actually going to be busy with society affairs and examinations. Everyone in the flat that I interact with on a daily basis is back and those from Stanford are also back as well.
Super happy to have Sophie back because she brought a small, random gift for me, nicely wrapped in tissue. Apparently, when she saw it, she thought that I should have it because ... it's soap. Always excited to have new soaps ! (See a problem here?)
I just gave it a sniff and it smells really good ! Can't wait to give it a go ! :3 ! And Sophie is not the only one with gifts ! Alex, who's from Ireland (not northern Ireland), gave us all some rocks. The rock was ... not... quite what I expected it to be ... It's some rock candy, I think ! And the funny thing was that the name of it was "Ireland Rocks" which is really funny, considering the fact that it came from an Irish.
Haven't gave it a test taste but Karen did and it looks like she enjoyed herself so I'll assume that it's nice ! It's quite funny how everyone just bullies Max (who came back early!) because Alex had one that broke and he was like, everybody choose one except this because I'll give the broken one to Max.
It's all in good natured fun. It was hilarious when he came back today though because we were gathered in the kitchen when Max found the Easter Egg box that Sam brought back so Caroline could put Max's bathing stuff in it.
And for a moment, Max thought he had an Easter egg and was really excited about it. Only to realise that it's his £1 shower gel which absolutely sucked (according to him). And then Max went to dismantle the box so that he could put it in the recycling bin. He tried to throw it into the bin from a distance but of course the box hit me, which everyone laughed about.
At least he had the decency to be sheepish about it.
To celebrate the fact that everyone's back on campus, we gathered at Wymeswold today and had Chinese takeaway (I was more inclined towards Thai actually, but everyone else seems to be happy with chinese.)
So while we were waiting for the music people (Max, Sam & Karen) to be back, we were gathered in Caroline and my room, touring my soap stash, my art stash (to which Sophie absolutely screamed at me for the moment of watercolour paper I collected and was untouched) and obviously, everyone's really amazed with my Polaroid camera because it's really expensive here.
After a while, the party moved to Caroline's room and there we have Alex trying on Caroline's riding helmet and there's this knob thing on the top of his head and he was just like, I HAVE A NIPPLE ON MY HEAD. I HAVE A NIPPLE ON MY HEAD. -facepalm- My friends are all children in disguise. But it was really funny. Everyone was just laughing at him.
Dinner was fun as usual, people talked about what we were up to during holidays (or not up to anything and complained that it was boring in general and being on campus is so much more fun even though we are in the middle of freaking nowhere, not even a joke)
After dinner entertainment was cluedo and Mau which instantly made people leave the room. Cluedo was fun and I got the first one right. Then there was Nat who got the second one. We wanted to play Mau but Ivana and Nathan were just not having it because they absolutely hate that infuriating game. Both Mau and Cluedo are games that would break friendships and we really don't know if our friendship is up for so much breaking in a night. And then, I won the first game of Mau to which Nat was just like, HOW ?!
Mau is seriously SO FUN. It is essentially, a game with no spoken rules, but certain rules apply and you would only learn the rules by being punished and it's so fun playing the game with people who actually don't know the rules. You either love the game as much as Soph and I, or hate it as much as Ivana and Nathan who would not go anywhere near the game. So absolutely hilarious.
And earlier on in the chat, Caroline sent us all a link which leads us to the uni webpage and it was actually an example of how an examination timetable look like. And everyone knows that if there's one thing Nottingham is going to be famous for, it's absolutely going to be Robin Hood. People are kind of obsessed with Robin Hood here and he is very iconic.
So iconic that he found a permanent place in the uni. It was pretty funny really.
And with that, is the rude awakening that my examinations are coming and I am nowhere near done with revision and that I just spent most of yesterday and some parts of today to watch 17 episodes of Boss and Me, a Chinese drama based on a novel 《杉杉来吃》which was a really cute novel that I read a few years back.
It's crazily addictive and quite nice. But no matter how nice it is ....
It's time to return to the books. -sigh-
