If there's something I need to remind myself of constantly, it would probably be this. "I am enough." I don't know about other people, but personally, I have always felt like I wasn't enough. I wasn't good enough, I wasn't putting in enough effort, I am not doing enough etc. I am in a constant state of trying to become enough but I haven't really stopped to think if I was good enough for myself, if I was enough for myself.
My 'enough' was always based on other people's 'enough'. But the truth is: everyone's form of measurement is different, based on what we value and prioritize. You could never really truly be enough for everyone. The only one true person you could be enough for, is yourself.
So when I get caught up in things, I would forget that, sometimes, I push myself too hard, do too much, care too much, but I am already doing enough for myself. I don't know if it's a selfish thought, but I believe that before you can try to value other people, you must learn to value yourself. Because at the end of the day, do you think you are valuable, lovable, enough for yourself?
But that aside ! I just have got to say that, the reason why I'm blogging about that was because my sister got me something ! Actually, I didn't expect such a lovely gift from my sister ! Well, not that she doesn't get my lovely things, just that I was very confused and surprised when I saw that I had two parcels.
The slip to notify me to pick it up wasn't helpful either. The description was: small, white plastic packet. That could be just about anything small really. And when I saw Sensibar on it, I knew that it must be someone from home and that it was very familiar. For a moment, I thought that maybe I bought something for myself but forgot about it.
Obviously, something this small must mean that it's an accessory of some sorts. And then when I opened it up ! I have to say that Sensibar is really awesome. My sister was really impressed with them because 1) they offered to write a note for her, 2) remove proof of purchase, 3) thanked her for the prompt payment, 4) genuinely sincere in their emails. I've seen the snippets of their exchange over email and I'm wowed by the level of service.
All in all, I am very happy with this unexpected gift. It's a really lovely gift and I hope to wear it out soon !
